Risk Middle East Conference
By Nik Venema | April 15, 2014

Day One small

FINCAD participants just returned from sunny Dubai where we co-sponsored the IIR Risk Middle East 2014 conference. More than 70 risk professionals, primarily from the MENA region, participated in this two-day event.

The morning of Day One focused strictly on regional and international regulatory issues and included a roundtable discussion of CRO’s from Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the U.S.A.

The afternoon session was split between two streams – one focusing on credit risk topics, such as capital adequacy and allocation, and the other which covered operational risk including scenario analysis and key risk indicators.

FINCAD’s Dr. Jan Rosenzweig presented to a near full house on Best-in-class Methods for Pricing Risks, Balancing Exposures, and Managing Credit Concentration.

The morning session of Day Two showcased further thought leadership by the region’s risk professionals and included another CRO Roundtable as well as a Head-to-Head panel moderated by Dr. Rosenzweig on the topic of how businesses embed a coherent framework to address risk management.

The afternoon sessions were again split between two streams – one focusing on market risk and the other on enterprise risk management (ERM).

FINCAD has numerous clients in the region and we look forward to continuing to help them address and solve the real business issues contained within the areas of market and credit risk as well as provide for their wide variety of valuation needs.
